AIRPORT

There are 2 airports in Istanbul.
On the European side of the city, Istanbul Airport (IHL).


On the Asian side of the city, Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW), which is closer to the Kalamiș neighbourhood and Wyndham Grand Istanubl Kalamiș Marina Hotel.

TAXI

You can find taxis outside of the arrival gate 9.
Payment for taxi or shuttle is in Turkish Lira (TRY - â‚ș).
Some taxis have credit card payment option.

Approximate costs (subject to change):
Yellow taxis 20-25 €, blue taxis 25-30 €, black taxis 35-40 €

Havabus shuttles:
Havabus shuttles to Kadikoy 5 € and then taxi from Kadikoy to Kalamis 7 €.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Public transport or private vehicle
Use the elevators before or after the exit gates to access floor 2.
Metro
Exit through gate 9 or 13 and follow the red direction signs to access the Metro Station. You can use the moving walkways opposite gate 11 to access the station.

CAR RENTAL

Car rental companies are located on the Arrivals level of the airport.

Kalamıß is one of the most pleasant neighborhoods in Istanbul, it’s an upscale area located in the Kadıköy district on the Asian side. Kalamıß is a neighborhood within the larger Fenerbahçe area. It’s known for two marinas that collectively make up the biggest marina in Turkey. They have a combined capacity of over 1,100 boats.


When you are in the Asian side of the city, make sure you visit Bagdat Street, ranks 4th Best Shopping Street in the World!

The official currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY - â‚ș).
Euros and Dollars are generally not accepted. We suggest you to exchange some money at the airport at your arrival. You can find banks and exchange offices at your arrival before you leave the airport.

ATMs are available and credit cards are widely accepted. Credit cards with “plus” option allow cash withdrawal.

What to Bring?

May is one of the best times to visit Istanbul, featuring mild, pleasant weather perfect for sightseeing. Temperatures typically range from 20-24 °C (68-75 °F) during the day and 13-16 °C during nights (55-60 °F) with plenty of sunshine and minimal, though occasional, rain. Packing layers is advisable, including a light jacket for evenings and walking shoes for sightseeing after class.
